TRY TO LOWER OUR MONTHLY SEWER COSTS
Our sewer fees are much higher than originally expected. The Sacheen Water and
Sewer District is submitting a request for additional funds from the Governor through the
State Legislature in order to be even stronger partners in the development and
construction of the Sacheen Waste Water Collection and Treatment System. As
Sacheen Lake is the headwaters to the West Branch Little Spokane, our sewer project
has a positive impact on more than just Sacheen Lake. $2,500,000.00 is the amount
being requested from the 2016 budget.
YOUR HELP IS VERY IMPORTANT
We all need to band together and write letters to our representatives, state senator,
county commissioners, and governor explaining how this increased fee impacts us
individually. All requests for proviso monies are voted on by the entire legislative body,
so if you know any other legislators or senators, contact them as well. We need all the
support we can get! Talk to your neighbors and ask them to write as well. If we can
show overwhelming involvement and need, we will have a much better chance of
having our request granted. Tell your own story of the need for assistance to reduce your monthly/annual expense for the project.
Your letter should be one page and sent by US mail. Emails are okay, and effective as a
secondary mailing. The letter should only include your personal situation, your name
and address, and it should reference Sacheen Lake. If you would like to include more
